A Quick Art Warehouse layout...

This was a really fast one. All new Fresh by Art Warehouse except the felt and the ribbon. You can even get a whole pack of coordinating Bazzill cardstock to match this line. How easy is that...except I don't think that brown came out of the pack. LOL! but the blue did! Matches Annika's eyes perfectly.

I should have known something was up. No one wears a stocking cap to the park when it's above 70 degrees outside. He had on gloves too, but took them off because he was sliding around too much. What was I going to say? They went perfectly with the Halloween socks he was wearing. Poor little guy was burning up with a fever a couple of hours later. I hope he is better soon. No fun! The other pic my daughter took of me in my new Creative Imaginations Tee!

Just a little card I made.

Grandpas and Other Mysteries

I love this picture of the little guy and grandpa. We were at the park by grandma and grandpa's house playing. Grandpa takes him there a lot when he visits. Grandpa spoils him a lot apparently. Sometimes when I pick the little guy up at daycare I bring him an Icee. Just because his sister asks for one and I have two children and you know how that goes for those of you who have two children. So I brought him a cherry Icee one day and he throws the biggest fit and says he wants a blue one. Well the motto at our house is, "You get what you get and you don't throw a fit!" So he cried all the way home and he got nothing. natta. zip. Oh, he did get to sit in time out when we got home because he was still screaming about the BLUE ICEE. He's always liked cherry Icees and I am baffled. So, what does this have to do with the park? and grandpa? Lots, because just on the other side of the park is a Casey's and after grandpa takes him to the park they walk to Casey's and get...did you guess...a BLUE icee. Mystery solved. He drank every bit of that Icee and was happy as a little pig in mud.

Purses

I am about to have a "changing of the purses" at my house. It's always a big deal because I manage to accumu- late quite a lot of junk in the current purse. I have been using this orange Wrangler bag I got on clearance for $5.00 at Gordman's. I altered it with ribbon, buttons and felt flowers. My girlfriend affectionately dubbed it "Big Orange". That's a picture of the back of Big Orange on the bottom. It has gotten really dirty and Rebecca at CMK had me do this really cute Memory Purse she is selling in the store. You can also check them out here. These would make great mother's day gifts. I wonder if any of my mothers would want one??

Art Warehouse Goes Digital

I keep forgetting to post this piece of good news. Art Warehouse is going digi with some the retired product. You can find them at Designer Digitals. I hear there may some more fun stuff in the works! So, if you are a digi or a hybrid scrapper you should totally check it out.

I'm Still Alive

Yes, I'm still alive. Barely. I finally finished my grant today. Yay! I'm not sure it's the best, but it's finished. This week was beautiful here. I took the kiddos to Silver Dollar City on Wednesday. There was no one on the rides and we rode and rode and rode. The little guy even behaved himself. We had a wonderful afternoon together. On Friday I got to see Jonathan Kozol speak on Campus. He's an education activist. I read one of his books: Rachel and her Children: Homeless Families in America last semester. It just totally changed the way I looked at people. I started his book Salvage Inequalities. He just seems to give wings to the words in my heart. It's really sad what we feel the penalty for being poor in this country should be, especially for our children. Okay, enough education stuff for today. I'm going to play in the backyard with my own children before dinner. The picture is my beautiful daughter at SDC on Wednesday.

CMK Weekly DT Inspiration

So it is my turn to do the DT Inspiration at CMK.. rub ons to decorate containers. Right up my alley, eh? I got this jar on clearance at Christmas and the rub ons are all Art Ware- house. Yummy stuff. I am becoming a bad blogger. Not too much to update about. I am trying to write a grant for one of my classes and it is sucking dry all my free time (and my poor brain). I'm pooped!

My Hambly Box of Love

I love that little owl. My daughter said it was her favorite sheet of Hambly. She always empties my DT box every month just in case there is something she thinks I might not need. I needed the owl. This is an altered Prima box. I've been saving it for something and I'm glad I did. I wish I had more of these. I really loved the flowers that came in these boxes and I used them all! Oh...my birthday is tomorrow...ha ha ha ha ha ha. Hope it feels like your birthday too, even if it isn't!

Hambly layouts for CMK!

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend. It was freezing here, but we had a great time. I managed to finish a couple of layouts last night after the little one passed out from Easter Egg hunting exhaustion. Hambly is the sponsor at CMK this month. I have never had any Hambly before, so it was a new experience. Did you know they put vanilla in their ink. This stuff seriously smells good. I couldn't quit smelling it. Yummy! Well, here are my layouts. Happy Monday!

Another Day...

It is freezing here again. Everything is blooming and it's back to the 40s. There is even a chance of snow tomorrow. The little guy and I just played blocks and read books today. He is learning to trace his letters. He is SO good at it. Yes, I am totally bragging. We went and had lunch with "the sister", so he could pack his Thomas lunch box. I took this picture like a week ago, but I just love it, so I thought I would share. Off to work again tomorrow to help other little ones learn their letters and read books. Same stuff different day. I love it!

A Little Art Warehouse/Hampton Stamp Love

Okay, yes I love jars. Little jars, big jars..weird shaped jars..oh and colored jars! This was actually a jar from one of my favorite local Mexican restaurants. It had sweet sauce in it. Now, it is filled with sweet treats! It is beautiful here. The little guy and I have been playing baseball and spraying ants in the driveway with a water bottle. It is supposed to be around 80 degrees. I'm going to soak up some more fresh air before my night class! Hope you are enjoying this beautiful day!

My girlfriend has been here all weekend. Good times, I tell ya! Thought I would share a few pics. Those girls are so stinkin' cute!

CMK Crop

I finally did a layout about myself. I had to do it for a design team assignment and I was really not into it at first, (okay, let's just say I whined and complained and already had too much stuff to do) but I so love how it turned out. I'm glad I did it and I feel like this layout is really reflective of my crazy personality. Also CMK is having a BIG crop today and I meant to post this much earlier. They are giving away a lot of cool prizes, so if you have time today, run over and check it out! You still have time to play. My challenge is at 4:30 today!

Art Warehouse Stamps

I made these flowers using my Art Warehouse Stamps..the bottom border is also a stamp and everything on here is Creative Imaginations one way or another except the ribbon and the button. I made this for my scrap table to keep all my AW stamps in. So they are in one place and I don't have to keep digging them out of my stamp drawer all the time. I love this Creative Imaginations paper and really needed to use it. I think projects for my scrap room are the most fun to do. It takes off the pressure of, "I wonder if someone will appreciate this in 10 years?" It's just for me, right here, right now. Just for enjoyment. KWIM? Anyway...I need to get back to my homework and stop staring at my handiwork.

Art Warehouse

So one of you really nice people pointed out that I don't always post all my work on my blog. No, I don't. I am kind of random about that. Sometimes I post at CMK, sometimes 2peas, and sometimes just here. My Product Spotlights for Art Warehouse I don't post here right away because I want people to check the Art Warehouse Blog. There are lots of other cool projects they can see at the same time and if I posted mine here you might miss out on that! Oh, and I have one up right now. An altered spaghetti jar for Easter! Here is a little Art Warehouse I haven't posted anywhere. The basket was my Product Spotlight for Feb., but I did the treat bag card and didn't post it..so, here it is. I'm off to my night class! Happy, Happy Monday!

Such a Fun Day!

We headed out of town to visit the grand- parents today. It's an hour drive and I dread the fighting that may occur in the backseat on the drive, but everything went pretty smoothly today! We had such a great time. The kids played in the creek, played with the dogs, petted the horses, rode the 4 wheelers, and we all got to visit with some other family members that made an appearance. I'm pooped. I tried to sneak in a ton of pics, but realized I had messed with my ISO settings on my camera and forgot to set them back (a little too late). I got a lot of noise in my pics, but I'm posting two of my favorites. Hope you are having a great weekend too!

Button Shelf

So, if you were wondering ...I survived day one of the bad perm. Thanks for all the good vibes you sent my way! Any hoo...there was a thread on CMK on how you store your buttons... lots of fun. I said I would never sort my buttons like this. Just craziness if you ask me, but a case of the crazies took over and I ended up with this. I found this shelf at Hobby Lobby for $16 and painted it white. I only sorted my misc. buttons. My Foofala buttons and some of the others have their own homes in other glass jars scattered around my room. I guess these wouldn't be so handy to take to a crop. Good thing I left some in the button box. Buttons are just SWEET aren't they? Ummmm..yeah. Happy, Happy Friday!!

A Layout of My Own

Just for fun. Just for me. My pretty little girl. Oh, do you want to hear something funny. I got a perm yesterday. Somehow, perms always sound like a better idea than they actually are. Last time I got one it didn't take so this time she used smaller rollers and stronger solution. Do you see where I'm going with this? My kids made so much fun of me last night. I had to pick up my DD and her friend at Girl Scouts. They made me roll down the window and were trying to hang their heads out because I stink. It's kind of little old lady tight. It's also much shorter than in any of the pictures I've posted because I just had a haircut too. Yikes! This morning I woke up and it somehow grew about 6 inches straight up on top of my head. I tried barrettes yesterday, but it was like brush, it just kept growing over them. I'm going to have to use a scarf to hold it down today. And the smell...Those elementary kids are brutal! Wish I didn't have to work today! When you pick yourself up off the ground and quit laughing could you pray for me??

The Last Fancy Pants Project

Here is my last Fancy Pants for CMK this month. The patterned paper and chipboard is FP. The rub on is Basic Grey. Okay, so I wanted to tell Joni...your surface may be the problem with the rub ons. The first thing I used them on was the metal and they were sliding around and would not come off. I was so stressed because it was my first DT project. When I heated them they worked great. I really hope that takes care of your problem. Also the same ones worked just fine on paper. It was just that pack too. The other swatch books all have worked fine on any surface. Also do not worry over the decoupage. Don't put it off. Just go for. That stuff is so seriously relaxing for me. It's messy, but there's just something about it. KWIM? Just go in thin layers and do a little at a time. You'll be fine!
